Terms & Conditions - Walks

Whilst 'reading the small print' is probably not everyone's idea of fun, it is nevertheless important that folk understand what it is that we (Hadrian's Wall Ltd) offer and provide, as well as the terms and conditions that come with those provisions. It may be that some of this information appears particularly formal and impersonal, however, we have made every effort to make it as clear and easy to access as possible.

Booking and Payment

Online, Phone or Post - You may place a booking online, by telephone or by post. Your reservation will be made on receipt of a non-refundable £25 per person deposit. Once the booking has been confirmed, you will be sent a ‘Booking Pack' including of a Map, Kit List, Advice on Time & Distance and an Itinerary outline.

Balance - The remaining balance becomes due six weeks prior to arrival. Final Payment options will be confirmed on acceptance of the booking.

Insurance

It is expected that you will have taken out adequate personal insurance to cover yourself, your equipment and your luggage in the event of cancellation, personal accident, illness or loss of possessions. Hadrian's Wall Ltd cannot accept responsibility for any loss, damage, illness or injury you might suffer on your walk. Also, we cannot accept any liability for any loss damage or injury resulting from ‘force majeure' or any unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.

Safety

Stay Safe - In the interests of safety, you must read, understand and fully comply with our 'Safety Measures', as well as undertake to follow the advice of any warning or advisory notices encountered during your walk. You should also follow the Country Code and requests of the Hadrian's Wall Path National Trail, acting sensibly and prudently at all times.

Personal Skills - Good walking skills are required. Please ensure you have the appropriate skills, fitness levels and equipment. If you have any doubts please refer to the ‘Kit List' and ‘Advice on Time and Distance' provided on booking or get in touch. The responsibility for ensuring the safety of the party rests solely with the party itself. We assume all clients will have a reasonable level of good health. Please advise us at time of booking of any medical condition or medication taken that may affect your walking ability or that would be useful for us to know in advance of being in remote areas.

Under 18 - We regret that we cannot accept bookings from any person less than 18 years of age unaccompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Persons under the age of 18 will be the sole responsibility of the parent / guardian.

Conditions Acceptance

Acceptance of the above conditions is implied when you make a booking and this constitutes the limit of our liabilities.

Changes to Bookings

We reserve the right to change the itinerary where circumstances dictate. In the event that you wish to change any details of your booking we will do our utmost to help, however an administrative charge will be incurred. In extreme or unforeseen circumstance we reserve the right to cancel or refuse any booking, at which time we will refund all monies paid to us less the deposit. There will be no further entitlement to any compensation, damages or otherwise arising from the cancellation.

Cancellations

Deposit - Should you have to cancel the booking, the Deposit is non-refundable.

Before Final Balance Payment - Should any member of your group withdraw before your final balance has been paid, there is an administration charge of £25 for each person that drops out from the initial booking.

After Final Balance Payment - After the final balance has been paid, should you cancel the whole booking (not less than four weeks of arrival) - we will refund the balance paid, less the deposit and a £50 administration fee.

Individual Drop-out - If after the final balance has been made (and the cancellation is not less than four weeks of arrival), any individual within the group who drops out, will have their personal balance refunded, less their deposit and a £25 administation fee.

Within Four Weeks of Arrival - Cancellations within four weeks of arrival are non-refundable. Non-participants would need to make a claim on their own personal travel insurance.
